Architectural Glaze Color Palette
tile decoration

We formulate our own glazes to complement our clay body. The glaze color palette features soft earthen tones, some that are associated with the arts and crafts period. The full richness of our glazes do not translate well on a monitor screen, or even in a photo. So, we have given a detailed description of each color glaze. We recommend that you order samples when you become interested in using our tile.

Color Description

N203
Dark Blue

usually matte to semi-matte, glossy areas at times

opaque, semi-opaque, translucent

Art glaze - guaranteed to vary in surface finish and hue

Dark blue with variation in hue and finish even on the same flat tile. Used on relief the same piece may show both matte and gloss finish, depending on the surface modeling. The glaze breaks over edges and sometimes edges show the white clay body, adding emphasis to the design. Very exciting!

N206
Malachite

matte, semi-matte, glossy areas at times

opaque, semi-opaque, translucent

Art glaze - guaranteed to vary wildly in surface finish and color

Deep green on the blue side varies to deep evergreen. Matte finish is more characteristic on flat tiles and glaze may show brush lines. Full of happy surprises for the adventurous.

N212
Moss Green

semi-matte with occasional glossy areas

opaque to semi-opaque, some translucency

Art glaze - varies moderately in surface finish and color

The color range of natural moss. All green or green with hints of brown leaning to light olive drab. Used with vanilla, moss green develops a glossy edge where they meet.

N229
Autumn Gold

gloss

semi-opaque to translucent

Art glaze - varies moderately in surface finish and color

Deep, warm brownish-gold, may lean toward rust, or an olive brown. Pretty.
