Murals, Panels and Tabletops
We accept commissions to create one-of-a-kind fine art murals, panels and tabletops. Our design service works with you to develop an image from your sketch of an idea or a detailed cartoon. You can choose from the full spectrum of painting styles - from fine arts to decorative techniques and commercial graphics - to render the idea. A broad palette of ceramic glaze colors is used, from naturals to polychrome, and surface finishes that range from gloss to matte. See Murals & Panels and Table Tops to see some of our examples of completed custom pieces.

The Commission Process
Painted Images On Tile For Murals, Panels And Furniture
Overview: There are a number of steps after the preliminary discussion of client ideas, decorative needs, and budget. An appropriate drafting charge is required before a design has begun. Although the charge is non-refundable, it is applied to the cost of the project if the client accepts the design and work proposal.
Process Steps:
- Our staff renders the design on paper in color upon receipt of drafting fee.
- The client reviews the design. Color samples are supplied, if needed. The client signs that the design and colors meet approval and returns one signed copy to the company.
- We present the client with the work proposal and agreement. If it is acceptable, the client signs the agreement and returns it with 50% of the quoted fee, which is non-refundable. The drafting fee is applied to the balance due.
- We execute the work and notify the client of its completion.
- The client remits the balance due plus shipping.
- We ship the finished art work.
Design And Production Of Custom Relief Tile And Architectural Terra Cotta
Overview: There are four basic work steps after preliminary discussion of client ideas, decorative needs and budget. We present the client with the work proposal. If it is acceptable, the client signs and returns the agreement, accompanied by a non-refundable payment in full for the first step. Note: the first three steps are developmental and full, non-refundable payment is expected for each step before it is begun. The fourth step is production of the commission.
Process Steps:
- Patterns - A pattern of the design is sculpted in plasticine from the shop drawing provided by the client. Clay shrinkage calculations are made and the pattern is made larger than the desired finished size. Depending on the complexity of the design, costs start at $250.00. After the client is presented with the model, s/he signs approval and remits full payment for the next two steps as highlighted in the proposal. *If no drawings are available, our staff can generate them. Charges will apply.
- Molds - A mold is made from the pattern. The mold can take up to four weeks to dry, depending on the size. The cost starts at $200.00.
- Glaze Formulation - A glaze is calculated, developed and tested several times. The cost is dependant on the color, typical charges are $250.00 - $500.00. The client signs approval of the glaze.
- Production - Pieces are made from the molds. Payment and shipping is due upon completion. Progress payments may be arranged for larger projects.
